Telephone & Fax Preference Services
The TPS / FPS regulations mean you can not make an unsolicited 'phone call to just anyone you wish in the UK, nor can you send promotional faxes out to everyone with a fax number. People and companies not wishing to receive unsolicited calls can register with the Telephone and Fax Preference Services (TPS / FPS). If you subsequently call them, you risk a £5000 fine.

Confirm you have checked a number
To enable you to prove that you comply with the TPS/FPS regulations MarketingFile keeps an audit trail of every number checked. You can query this audit trail at a later date to confirm that you did indeed check a number, and whether it was barred or OK to call at that time.
